August 2011

Part 1
A word of thanks to Marty and all the gang that went for the day trip to Scotland last week ( Marty/Harvey, Davy, Terry & Mrs, Hugh & young cub, Paul & Noel our leader, sorry if I've missed anyone.
Summary of the day:
Met in the square @ 0630, I was on time no matter what Harvey says.
Got on boat and sailed @ 0730, all was well.
... Docked back in Belfast @ 0810, McCullough has obviously taken a job with Sealink as a mechanic (one of the engines was f****d).
Tom was phoned and Flyers were on stand-by for extra riders in event McCullough has done his usual one scraped the engine, Tom was only making his way home (Dirty Boy).
At 0930 we set off again, all the Rangers fans on the boat were worried about the 3 o'clock kick-off, we didn't give a shite, it just meant we were now 2 hr's late.
Part 2
Crossing was rough and we had a hard time getting Harvey out of the Lifeboat during the crossing, he was heard to say "we're all doomed" and people were feeding the seagulls from their own stomachs on deck.
Off the boat @ 1230 and Noel done a quick map appreciation for time lost and new route issued.
Off we went and due to me having a new back tire had to take it easy for a while.
We were h...eading for a secret road that bikers travel far and wide to ride and can only dream off.
Harvey as usual was ranting and riding on the wrong side of the road, making jesters at drivers if they didn't slow down to avoid him being on their side of the road.
we got to the secret location and Noel gave us the sigh to go for it, the ZX as usual had the front wheel in the air, however at the same time Marty was travelling 9 miles in another direction to re-fuel the beast (that’s the bike, not him).
Part 3
It was brill over the mountain, however the fuel light on the ZX made me roll off the throttle coming down the other side of the mountain.
we all took and brake at the end and pondered were Marty was, I'm sure we waited 20 - 30 minutes before he arrived.
Then he arrived and it was everyone else’s fault for his bike being so hard on fuel.
We all then set of for lunch, after another small se...t back we arrived and had lunch.
After lunch it was back the same way over the mountain, we were all fuelled up so no excuses.
Marty soon made it to the front and the ZX was hot on his back tyre.
It was brill, I seen my chance and took it, got by Marty and we went up through the mountain quicker than the proverbial shit of a shovel.
Then we came on a car and as I approached it looked in the mirror and Harvey was in his usual position (on the wrong side of the road), so he got by me and away we went again, racing each other to the end of the road.
Final Part, You'll be glad to know:
Time was now not on our side, so Noel said straight back to the boat.
This was ok until Marty’s bike using more fuel than Air force 1 made a detour not known to the rest of us.
We got to the boat and no sigh of Marty, we then got brought forward to the boat, still no sigh, then shortly before we got the go ahead to embark Marty shows up, rides up by all the bik...es that are waiting for the boat to us.
Everyone must know him as he gets a standing ovation from all the bikers he has just jumped the queue on.
He gets to us and lets rip, You F*****s, Rant, Rant etc.
Anyway an absolutely brilliant day, F****n knackered but would do it again, good crack, good company and the best of roads with no traffic, CLASS.
